Fitzpatrick, Zimmerman & Rose Co., L.P.A.

In 1951, Francis G. Fitzpatrick and Donald W. Zimmerman founded the firm, then known as Fitzpatrick & Zimmerman. The law office was originally located on Court Street, above the old Peoples Bank Building in downtown New Philadelphia, Ohio. From these humble beginnings the firm has grown to include six respected and experienced attorneys and a well-qualified support staff. The firm currently maintains offices in New Philadelphia, Sugarcreek and Canton, Ohio. Since 1956, the firm has operated a real estate title agency known as the Tuscarawas County Title Company, serving Tuscarawas, Carroll, Harrison, Stark, Holmes, Belmont and Guernsey counties.

FZR’s service area has recently erupted into a hotbed of oil and gas leasing and drilling activity. Rich oil and gas deposits found in the Utica Shale have spurred this activity. The firm has established a team of attorneys who work daily in successfully negotiating strong oil and gas lease agreements and pipeline easements to protect the landowner’s interests and financial concerns. Our legal team regularly deals with leasing and the cancellation, abandonment, and renegotiation of leasing rights for landowners, freeing them to re-lease their property or negotiate Utica Shale rights. Our attorneys have the experience and ability to provide estate and family planning, as well as wealth protection expertise, relative to oil and gas royalties to be received by landowners. We have many decades of experience in estate planning, elder care, and succession planning which can be brought to bear to aid our clients in planning for their family’s financial future as a result of the expected wealth arising from the oil and gas production royalties.
