Amy has spent most of her legal career helping people obtain Social Security disability benefits and has represented thousands of people in front of the Social Security Administration. More importantly, Amy believes that each case is a unique opportunity to make someone's life better. Applying for Social Security disability can be a hugely frustrating process. Amy believes in giving clients an honest assessment of their case and a realistic time frame for their disability benefits. By working directly with her clients, Amy provides compassionate and effective representation both inside and outside the courtroom. Amy is the author of Social Security Disability for Beginners, now available at was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, earning her Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology. Amy graduated in 2000 with college and university honors.After college, Amy returned to Arizona to attend the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law. During law school, Amy interned with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.In 2003, Amy graduated from law school and passed the bar. Amy began working for Genex Services, Inc., where she represented claimants at over four hundred Social Security Disability hearings all over the United States. At Genex Services, Amy gained a deep understanding of healthcare administrative law and Social Security law and procedures.Amy continued her development in healthcare administrative law and became an Assistant Attorney General for the Arizona Attorney General's Office in 2008, representing the Arizona State Board of Nursing. Amy was later hired independently by the Board of Nursing. Continuing her passion for disability law, Amy has given a number of continuing legal education seminars on Social Security for other attorneys and members of the community. Amy presented at the National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives conference in Arlington, Virginia in May 2015.
