Justipedia explains Elder Abuse

Elderly people can be particularly vulnerable to being abused. This is because they are often sick or in a weakened condition. Elderly people with diseases such as Alzheimer's can lose touch with reality, which makes it even more difficult to protect themselves from abuse. This is why people who work with elderly people are mandated to report abuse that they see.
