Failure to comply is a refusal by a person to abide by a court order. Any time a person breaches a court order, it would be considered a failure to comply. Charges will be brought against any person that fails to comply with any court order.

Sentencing for failure to comply can include high monetary fines or incarceration that runs until the person does comply with the court order. This could happen if a person is ordered to provide documentation that they do not provide; in that situation, the person would be held in contempt of court for failure to comply.
