Definition - What does Interlocutory mean?

An interlocutory is a proceeding that is taken within a case and after a case. It is sometimes referred to as housekeeping and is related to the proceedings as opposed to relating to the trial. A decree which is given provisionally within a trial is commonly referred to as an interlocutory decree. Breaking the word down in Latin, it literally means the words that come in law.

Justipedia explains Interlocutory

Interlocutory would not be final such as the judgment in the case. It is considered the back and forth interactions between both sides while coming to a final decision.
