Definition - What does Multifamily Housing mean?
Multifamily housing is a residential apartment building of varying size, which is determined by the fact that multiple families live in them under separate units but combined as a whole unit. This can include anything from a duplex to a large residential apartment building. In terms of government housing such as HUD or Section 8, the tenancies are carried out within units that are in a multifamily housing scheme.
