Born and raised in Massachusetts, Alan came to New Orleans to attend Tulane University, where he obtained a B.A. in history in 1982 and his J.D. from the School of Law in 1984. His practice focuses on personal injury litigation, particularly in the fields of Longshore compensation and Jones Act defense. Alan leads the firm’s Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act defense team, which also handles claims arising under the Defense Base Act and War Hazards Compensation Act. He is admitted to practice in all Louisiana State and federal courts, the Supreme Court of the United States, and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth, Ninth and Eleventh Circuits. Alan litigates claims nationwide.
