Andrew J. Borland
Originally from Osceola, Indiana, Andrew received both his Bachelor's and Law Degrees from Indiana University. While in law school, he served as Editor-in-Chief of The Dictum, the school's student newspaper. He also spent twelve weeks abroad studying international law at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland and St. Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. Andrew concentrates his practice in criminal defense in both state and federal courts throughout Indiana as well as the defense of attorney discipline matters.
While in law school, Andrew worked as a law clerk for the Death Penalty Section of the Indiana State Public Defender's Office, where he assisted with post-conviction relief cases for indigent clients on Indiana's Death Row. Committed to protecting the constitutional rights of those charged with, or convicted of, crimes, Andrew remained with the State Public Defender's Office upon graduation from law school, becoming a staff attorney. He left the Public Defender's office in 2000, and has continued in private practice since then, concentrating his practice in the area of criminal defense at the trial, appellate and post-conviction levels in both state and federal court.
