Austin has a strong commitment to helping people resolve their legal problems. His practice areas include workers compensation, personal injury, criminal and traffic matters.
Austin graduated summa cum laude from Appalachian State University in 2002 with degrees in Political Science and Philosophy & Religion. He then obtained a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California and his Juris Doctorate from North Carolina Central University. While in seminary, he received the distinguished pulpit presenter award and studied abroad in Cambridge, England.
He has served as chairman of the Appalachian State University Student Conduct Board, and worked for a legal aid society in Guatemala aiding abused and neglected children.
Austin is treasurer of the Watauga County Bar Association, and a member of the North Carolina Bar Association. Austin also serves as a supply pastor for the Western North Carolina United Methodist Church.
