Originally from Spartanburg, I came to Charleston to attend The Citadel in 2000. At The Citadel I was a cadet officer, a member of the school's Inn of Court, and a member of theDean's List and received Gold Stars for academic achievements. After graduating The Citadel with a degree in History, I enrolled in the founding class of Charleston School of Law. While in law school, I was a member of the Honor Court and assisted in the creation of the school's honor code. I graduated Cum Laude and was a member of the Charleston Law School's Dean's List.
After graduation I had the benefit of beginning my legal career with the late Reese I. Joye of the Joye Law Firm in North Charleston. Reese was a founding member of the National College of DUI Defense and was truly a pioneer in the area of defending DUI cases.
