C. Timothy Hopkins
Tim is the senior partner and a founder of the firm. He enjoys an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and has been engaged as an advocate in some of Idaho’s most prominent public law cases involving issues such as separation of powers, legislative redistricting, professional responsibility and land use. He has a wide ranging civil litigation practice for both individuals and corporations and he also maintains a significant transactional practice. Currently, a considerable portion of his practice is devoted to issues involving land use and real estate.
TIM is a member of the Idaho State Bar and the State Bar of California, and is admitted to practice before those state courts, as well as federal trial courts, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. He was a member of the Idaho State Bar Commission from 1988-1991, and served as president of the Idaho State Bar in 1990-1991. He is also an active member of the American Bar Association, where he served in the House of Delegates from 1992 through 2005, as a member of the ABA Board of Governors, representing Idaho, Utah, Nevada and Hawaii from 2009 through2012, and where he recently served as Chair of the Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary. He was a member of the board of directors of the Idaho Law Foundation from 1983 to 1988 and is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. He is also a member of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, and is listed in the Best Lawyers in America for appellate law and civil litigation. In 2003 he was honored by the Idaho State Bar with its Distinguished Lawyer Award.
