Carl D. Edwards, Jr., an AV Preeminent peer reviewed attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, is a partner in the firm's Lexington office. Carl has concentrated his thirty-eight years of active practice almost exclusively in the area of litigation, both in state and federal courts and before governmental agencies. He has served as lead counsel and tried to verdict over fifty disputed medical malpractice and professional liability claims for hospitals, physicians and health care practitioners. Carl has been sole trial counsel in numerous personal injury, products liability, premises liability, commercial, construction, and banking disputes. He served as lead arbitration counsel in a $150+ million construction dispute litigated in Atlanta for a Kentucky steel manufacturer, prosecuting and defending claims and counter-claims of critical path delays, change orders, backcharges, contract deviations, project inefficiencies and cost overruns. Carl has appeared and argued cases on appeal, for both appellant and appellee, in the Kentucky Court of Appeals, the Kentucky Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
