Catherine R. Stuart
Few attorneys are as connected in their areas of practice as Cathy Stuart. She is respected for her tenacity, determination and attention to detail. Her expansive work in the insurance and corporate world provides her clients access to her unique blend of experience and depth of knowledge. Her service as general counsel to the North Carolina Self-Insurance Security Association has taken her into complex issues of corporate, surety, insurance company regulation and administrative law and into bankruptcy courts throughout the country. She routinely advises her insurance and business clients on corporate matters, creditor’s rights in bankruptcy, workers’ compensation and human resources.
Her work with the United States Olympic Festival, the 1999 Special Olympics World Games and the North Carolina Bid Committee for the 2007 Pan American Games, USA Baseball and the Triangle Sports Commission, as well as professional athletes and coaches, resulted in a sports law practice that focuses on representing the organizers of major national and international sporting events.
