Following law school at Regent University in Virginia (where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and served as a Managing Editor of the Law Review there), Cort moved to North Carolina to begin his legal career as a Judicial Clerk for Justice Edward Thomas Brady at the Supreme Court of North Carolina. He assisted Justice Brady with all types of appeals, from capital cases to zoning issues. While with Justice Brady, Cort drafted Court opinions, researched complex issues, and discerned the merits of petitions filed with the Court.
Cort handles all types of cases in bankruptcy and litigation. He finds great satisfaction in helping people achieve their goals.
In 2012, Cort was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
Cort is married to his wonderful wife, Katrina, and they are blessed with three children.
