Daniel is an Associate with the firm. His practice includes the representation of healthcare organizations and professionals in medical malpractice and general liability actions. Mr. Cortez also has experience with contract disputes, commercial litigation, constitutional law, claims under RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act), and criminal matters. He has also assisted nonprofit organizations secure tax-exempt status from the IRS. In addition, he has extensive experience in claims brought under the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (“RLUIPA”), the Fair Housing Act (“FHA”), and the Fourteenth Amendment. He has practiced in federal courts throughout Michigan, California, Florida, and Mississippi.
