David Selmer graduated Cum Laude with Dean's List distinction from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2004. Prior to Law School, he received a B.A., Magna Cum Laude, from Gustavus Adolphus College. He is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society.
After law school, David became an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago where he honed his courtroom trial skills as a prosecutor. Within a year, he was selected to work in the Civil Rights Litigation Division. In his four years in the Division, he tried several high-profile civil rights actions involving police misconduct in both federal and state court.
