Elizabeth A. Pfenson
Ms. Pfenson is an associate and primarily practices family law. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Pfenson began her career as a Law Clerk for Judge Glenn T. Harrell, Jr., Senior Judge of the Court of Appeals of Maryland. While clerking for Judge Harrell, she participated in the drafting and editing of various civil and criminal matters.
Ms. Pfenson graduated magna cum laude from Notre Dame Law School (J.D. 2014). During her time at NDLS, Ms. Pfenson was an Articles Editor for the Notre Dame Law Review. While at NDLS, she tailored her law school experience to the extent possible around family law, taking courses and directed readings on subjects including family law, the Hauge Convention (concerning international child abductions), custody dispute outcomes, alternative dispute resolution, federal income taxation, trial advocacy, deposition skills, and juvenile law. She also was a Dean’s Academic Group Tutor for one section of Property Law, and received the highest grades in Real Estate Transactions and Environmental Law. Ms. Pfenson was a research assistant for both a family law professor as well as an environmental law professor, and worked at the Notre Dame Clinical Law Center, where she student-represented clients experiencing economic injustice issues and assisted small community groups with issues related to incorporation and achieving non-profit status. Finally, Ms. Pfenson volunteered with Lots of Hope, Inc., and was a Committee Member of the Near Northwest Neighborhood’s Quality of Life Initiative: Youth Task Force.
