Ethan Kaplan is a native of Des Moines, Iowa. He grew up the son of a trial attorney, and was passionate about becoming a lawyer from early childhood. Ethan received his B.F.A. from Iowa State University in 2003. He then attended Washburn Law School in Topeka, Kansas, where he obtained his juris doctorate and was active in Washburn’s Moot Court Program. After law school he moved to Iowa and joined his father’s general litigation practice handling all types of legal matters. Ethan moved back to Kansas with his family in 2009.In 2010, Mr. Kaplan joined Bretz & Young as “Of Counsel” expanding the firm’s personal injury litigation practice to include the handling of Social Security Disability (SSD) claims. Ethan has handled numerous social security disability claims at all stages of the disability process. He represents claimants throughout the country and has participated in hearings throughout the Midwest. In addition to his social security disability work, he also handles other general legal matters. He has also been a part-time instructor teaching law classes at Hutchinson Community College.
