Geoffrey Peters is a Partner in the Columbus office who practices in Bankruptcy, handling consumer and commercial bankruptcy matters. He is also involved in the Real Estate Default Group. Geoffrey specializes in complex bankruptcy matters, often involving business-related bankruptcies. He earned his B.B.A. summa cum laude from Kent State University in 1991, a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1994 and an LL.M. in Bankruptcy from St. John’s University School of Law in 2007. A member of the New York, Florida and Ohio State Bar Associations, Geoffrey is licensed in Florida, New York and Ohio and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court (Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern Districts of New York, Central and Southern Districts of Illinois, Northern and Middle Districts of Florida, and Eastern District of Michigan) and the United States Supreme Court. Geoffrey is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Beta Gamma Sigma and the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association. He was selected for inclusion in the 2006 Ohio Rising Stars list. He volunteers at the MidOhio Foodbank and at West Mound Elementary School for See Kids Dream, and also helps to supply meals to families in need at the YWCA Family Center in Columbus.
