Gregory B. Upton
Gregory B. Upton ("Greg") joined Gold Weems in 1991 and is a shareholder and a member of the Board of Directors of the Firm.
Greg received his B.A. in Economics, summa cum laude, in 1982 from Tulane University, his J.D., cum laude, in 1985 from Tulane University Law School and his L.L.M. in Taxation in 1991 from George Washington University. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Kappa (the National Leadership Honor Society).After graduation, Greg served as a clerk to F.A. Little, Jr., Judge, U.S. District Court, Western District of Louisiana (1985 - 1986) and as a Captain in the United States Army, Judge Advocate General Corps (1996 - 2001). As a JAG Officer, Greg served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney, prosecuted soldiers for crimes ranging from drug use to homicide, and defended an Officer in a highly sensitive case which received national publicity.
