Heather Cherepkai was born and raised in Indiana. She attended Indiana State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. She then went on to attend Ohio Northern University Petit School of Law and earned her Juris Doctorate in Law. During her time at Ohio Northern, she interned with the Allen County Public Defender’s Office and was a law clerk for Kluge, Santo, & Pitts.
In 2004, Heather was admitted to the Florida Bar where she began practicing as an Assistant Public Defender for the 18th Judicial Circuit in representing indigent clients. In 2006, she began working as a senior attorney with Children’s Legal Services in representing the Department of Children and Families in dependency cases.
