Herbert A. Cade
A New Orleans native, Judge Cade’s history in the legal profession spans more than three decades. After graduating from Saint Augustine High School, Judge Cade attended Louisiana State University New Orleans, where he earned a B.A. in Political Science and earned his J.D. from Southern University Law Center in 1976. During his 35+ years in civil litigation, Judge Cade represented individuals, public bodies, and corporations in both state and federal courts. He served as a judge on the 4th Circuit Court of Appeal, filling in for the retired Chief Judge William V. Redmann, he served as Orleans Parish Juvenile Court judge for nine years and as General Counsel for the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority. Prior to becoming a Traffic Court Judge in October of 2011, Judge Cade had been presiding over Division “K” of the Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans since 2003. Judge Cade is involved with the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Committee on Professionalism as a Member of its Sub-Committee on Mentoring and with the New Orleans Bar Association as Co-Chairman of its Minorities in the Profession Committee.
