J. Christopher “Chris” Barr is a Shareholder of the firm. Chris' practice is focused in the areas of real estate law, condominium law, contract law and general civil litigation. Chris has presided over countless residential and commercial real estate transactions throughout Northwest Florida. Chris has also successfully negotiated many short sale transactions on behalf of both borrowers and lenders and possesses substantial experience using the "Equator" electronic short sale system implemented by numerous national lenders including Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and NationStar Mortgage. Chris also has significant experience representing clients in civil litigation matters. His litigation practice focuses on actions involving contract disputes, property disputes, foreclosure, the collection of secured and unsecured debt, defense of wrongful collection, evictions, and actions to quiet title.Chris has represented multiple banks in foreclosures throughout Florida. He has been successful in efficiently and effectively obtaining Judgments of Foreclosure as well as Deficiency Judgments, when appropriate, against borrowers. He has also represented numerous borrowers in defense of foreclosure and successfully negotiated numerous "workouts" on behalf of his clients, including deed in lieu of foreclosure, short sale, and loan modification.
