J. Gentry Caudill
Gentry Caudill has spent four decades in the trial courts of North Carolina. As a Superior Court Judge he presided over complex trials involving unfair and deceptive trade practices, contract violations, medical malpractice, wrongful death, motor vehicle negligence, and criminal offenses. Prior to his appointment to the Bench, Gentry served as a State prosecutor, trying the most serious and challenging cases while training and supervising other prosecutors. He received commendations from the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department and the Mecklenburg County District Attorney for his service and leadership. Upon retiring from the Bench, the Governor of North Carolina awarded Gentry the Order of the Long Leaf Pine for his integrity, learning, and zeal.
Since joining Dozier Miller Law, Gentry has represented victims of fraud and unfair business dealings and those injured by negligence and wrongful acts. He also represents clients charged with criminal and traffic offenses. His experiences as both trial lawyer and judge enable him to aggressively seek the best results for his clients through negotiation, or when faced with unreasonable opponents, effectively taking cases to trial. In addition to his litigation practice, Gentry’s special combination of judicial insight and trial experience make him extraordinarily qualified as an arbitrator and mediator, and he has successfully mediated settlements in a wide range of cases.
