James K. McGee
James K. McGee became an attorney with Alexander & Cleaver in June 2005, after serving as alaw clerk with the firm for the previous two years. Jim's practice concentrates on the MarylandPublic Service Commission on behalf of numerous state regulatory clients. His practice includesrepresentation of clients before other state agencies, including the Maryland Department of theEnvironment, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and many others.
Jim was engaged to represent clients in most major PSC proceedings in a wide range of mattersfor our clients on energy, telecommunications, electricity, gas, wholesale, retail, compliance andregulatory issues. He is the "eyes and ears" for clients, including those who are owners of powerplants or plan to build or acquire fossil-fueled or renewable generation facilities in the state.Jim assists clients in obtaining proper licensing/certification, tariff revisions and asset transfers.He successfully argued on behalf of electricity suppliers in complaints against public servicecompanies involving complex calculations of energy transactions that resulted in significantcredits for our clients. In addition, Jim successfully represented ODEC in obtaining a CPCN fromthe Maryland PSC to build a 1,000 MW power plant in northern Maryland.
Jim also represents and advises clients with landlord-tenant, domestic and other transactionalor civil litigation issues. He represents the firm at events for the Annapolis and Anne ArundelCounty Chamber of Commerce.
