Jessica attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota and graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a minor in Studio Art. She then went on to obtain her Juris Doctorate Degree from S.J. Quinney College of Law.
During law school she served as the Note and Comment Editor of the Utah Environmental Law Review and was the co-founder and Vice President of the student group Art Law Alliance. She also worked as a law clerk at the Utah Attorney General's Office for both the Children's Justice Division and State Agency Counsel. Finally, she completed internships with the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office and the U.S. Attorney's Office Violent Crimes Division.
