John F. Bury
A Seattle native, John F. "Jack" Bury entered Gonzaga University on a debate scholarship.
Bury was elected student body Vice-President, and became the first student appointed to the Board of Regents. He was awarded a B.A. degree in 1971. He went on to receive a J.D. degree at Gonzaga University School of Law in 1975.
Bury was with the firm which ultimately became Murphy, Bantz and Bury for 39 years before joining Winston & Cashatt on January 1, 2014. His practice focuses on business, corporate, civil and commercial litigation, appeals, bankruptcy, and real estate.
Bury has spoken at Continuing Legal Education seminars on various business and real estate topics, from LLCs to easements. He has also been used as an expert witness in real estate and bankruptcy cases. Bury has practiced in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Washington and Bankruptcy Courts, and had at least one appeal in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals every decade since the 70's.
