John F. Kurtz
John Kurtz is co-chair of the firm’s creditor rights and bankruptcy group and a member of the civil and commercial litigation group. His broad range of complex commercial litigation experience includes matters involving contract disputes, creditor rights, lender liability, bankruptcy, corporate governance, Uniform Commercial Code, real estate, commodities, contract litigation, and insurance coverage.
Mr. Kurtz has extensive class action litigation and appellate experience. In addition to his litigation experience in bankruptcy court, he represents clients in various aspects of bankruptcy practice including the purchase of assets, confirmation of secured creditor plans of reorganization, the defense of fraudulent transfer, preference and turnover actions, obtaining denial of discharge, lease and other real property issues, and cash collateral issues.
In 2010, Super Lawyers magazine named Mr. Kurtz one of the top business litigation attorneys in the state of Idaho. For the past twenty-five years, he has been lead counsel in numerous cases in state and federal courts in California.
