John H. Maville graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1967. He served as State's Attorney for Boone County, Illinois (Belvidere) from 1968 to 1980. He has been engaged in the general practice of law, with an emphasis on estate planning and administration, family law, real estate and general civil litigation, in Belvidere, for more than 47 years.
He is an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association, serving as chair of the General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Section Council from 1998 to 1999. Before that, he was newsletter editor for the section council for several years, vice-chair and secretary. He currently serves as newsletter editor of the Senior Lawyers Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association. He has been a frequent speaker at Illinois State Bar Association continuing legal education courses on family law, law office management, and various other subjects of interest to general practitioners.
