Julie Payne Johnson
Julie Payne Johnson was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, and has been practicing law since 2004. An alumna of Caddo Magnet High School, Julie received her bachelor degree in History and Journalism with honors from The University of Texas at Austin in 2001. In 2004, she received her J.D. from Tulane Law School in New Orleans, graduating magna cum laude.
While attending Tulane Law School, she served as managing editor of the Tulane Law Review. She was the recipient of the Wiener Weiss & Madison Law Firm Scholarship and the Robert E. Friedman Award for the best comment published in the law review in 2004. While attending the University of Texas, she participated in the Senior Fellows Honors Program for the College of Communication and the Normandy Scholar Program. She was the recipient of Texas Student Publications’ Julia Jeffress Excellence Award as associate managing editor of The Daily Texan student newspaper. She also received the A.W. Belo Corporation Scholarship and the Jesse H. Jones Centennial Scholarship from the College of Communication.
