K. Stephen Tang


Mr. Tang, a Director with the firm, attended the University of California at Davis, graduating with honors with a bachelor of arts degree in history. Mr. Tang received his juris doctor degree from the Loyola Law School in Los Angeles in 1980. He is admitted to the State Bar of California and is also admitted to practice in all federal courts, district and circuit, in California.

Mr. Tang is a member of the firm's Insurance Coverage Group, where he specializes in general liability and workers’ compensation policies, including litigation of insurance coverage disputes, carrier contribution issues, and bad faith defense. He has analyzed policies and authored hundreds of coverage opinion letters involving general liability, personal and commercial auto, homeowners, workers’ compensation, and directors and officers policies. His expertise ranges from complex questions of an insurer’s duties through carrier versus carrier disputes to the practical points of defending bad faith litigation. Past cases handled include Stonewall Ins. Co. v. City of Palos Verdes Estates (1996) 46 Cal.App.4th 1810, Lockheed Corp. v. Continental Ins. Co. (2005) 134 Cal.App.4th 187, and Canton Poultry v. California Indem. Ins. Co. (2004) 69 Cal.Comp.Cases 216.
