Leigh R. Melton, has experience in all levels of state courts and represents clients in diverse areas of law, including criminal, juvenile, civil domestic, landlord/tenant, products liability, contract disputes, personal injury, worker’s compensation, elder law, collection, real estate, construction and small claims. Leigh is also an experienced and effective mediator and is AV Preeminent rated my Martindale Hubbell.Born in Fairfax, Virginia, Leigh graduated from Kenyon College in 1993 with honors and the University of Miami School of Law in 1998. She was admitted to the Maryland and Federal Bar in 1998 and clerked for the Honorable William C. Horne in the Circuit Court for Talbot County.Leigh R. Melton is the former President of the Mid-Shore Pro Bono Project, which provides access to free or reduced-fee legal services for qualified litigants in civil matters and is dedicated to serving the citizens of Kent, Queen Anne’s, Caroline, Talbot and Dorchester counties. Leigh is a Life Fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation, serves as a faculty member of the Newly Admitted Professionalism course twice per year for the candidates who have passed the Maryland Bar Exam and an adjunct professor at the University of Baltimore School of Law. Leigh also serves on the Board of the Professionalism Center which serves as the hub of professionalism efforts in Maryland. The center develops initiatives that promote civility among attorneys and enhances the public trust in the legal community. She is also a principal in Eastern Shore Title Company.
