Lorie A. Klein
Lorie represents creditors, financial institutions, and liquidating trustees in a variety of bankruptcy, debt restructuring, and business litigation matters, with an emphasis on representing unsecured creditor committees and liquidating trustees in Chapter 11 bankruptcies, including representing committees or liquidating trustees in the cases of Petters Group Worldwide, Inc., Lyman Lumber Company, Sheldahl, Inc., SCICOM Data, Inc., and HEI, Inc. In her role as committee counsel, Lorie commenced many avoidance actions resulting in significant recovery for unsecured creditors. She regularly handles numerous issues in Chapter 11 cases including real estate sales, other asset foreclosures and sales, claim litigation, security agreements, subordinated debt agreements, pension obligations, contract drafting, and fraudulent transfers under bankruptcy and state law. Lorie has also successfully represented clients in numerous appeals before the U.S. Bankruptcy Appellate Panel for the Eighth Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
