Marianne Y. Denton
Marianne Y. Denton is a third-generation Nevada lawyer. Her grandfather, Ralph L. Denton, worked as an attorney in Las Vegas for six decades and did much to help shape Nevada Law. He fought for the civil rights and taught that being an attorney was not about money, but the good of the client.
Marianne’s father, Mark R. Denton, followed in his father’s footsteps, graduating from Georgetown University Law School in 1976. When Mark returned to Las Vegas later that year, “Denton and Denton” opened for business. Mark is fond of saying that, while he learned the law from law school, he learned to be a lawyer from his father. Father and son practiced together for more than twenty years, before Mark became an Eighth Judicial District Court Judge in 1998.
