Mark Dykes is a shareholder in Parsons Behle & Latimer’s Litigation and Environmental, Energy & Natural Resources practice groups and the head of the firm’s Insurance Practice Group. He advises the electric utility industry and entities with interests in that industry in a wide variety of matters, including the drafting of coal supply and transportation agreements, power sales contracts, interconnection agreements, market hub procedures, and insurance coverage issues. On the litigation front, Mr. Dykes has represented utilities in stray-voltage litigation, disputes over power-supply and other contracts, and in Chapter 11 cases involving the rejection or attempted rejection of executory fuel and transportation contracts.Mr. Dykes has deep experience in complex liability insurance coverage issues, including those arising in mass-tort bankruptcy cases. He also advises insurers, TPA's and agents on compliance with insurance regulations, is well-versed in insurance codes and regulations, and has represented cedents in drafting and negotiating reinsurance/coinsurance treaties.
