Matthew R. Daniels
Matthew R. Daniels joined the firm in 2011, and is licensed to practice in Michigan and Illinois.
Matt is a commercial litigator whose practice is concentrated on insurance coverage, general business litigation, personal injury, and commercial and residential landlord-tenant disputes. Matt has experience representing plaintiffs and defendants, and advising businesses and individuals in a range of civil matters. In addition, he works closely with Andrew Eggan in Mr. Eggan’s role as a Washtenaw County Public Administrator.
Matt’s worked on every stage of the trial process, including sitting second-chair for a jury trial in a premises liability case. Further, Matt’s successfully argued before the Michigan Court of Appeals. Matt works closely with Thomas Daniels in his role as general counsel to a major municipal insurance pool, authoring coverage opinions, and defending the pool in declaratory actions. Matt recently obtained a complete dismissal of a claim against a construction consulting company in a multi-party asbestos suit in Madison County, Illinois. He also has experience with a broad range of commercial causes of action, including, but not limited to, fraud, civil conspiracy, breach of fiduciary duty, and ERISA violations.
