Michael T. Hannafan is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (Fellowship is by invitation only following a detailed investigation of skills, experience, and ethics; limited to no more than 1% of the total lawyer population of any state). Again, Mr. Hannafan was selected by his peers as an Illinois Super Lawyer in the General Litigation category. (Only 5% of all Illinois attorneys are selected as Super Lawyers.) For more than ten years, Mr. Hannafan was again chosen by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® in the specialties of Business Litigation and Commercial Litigation. Mr. Hannafan also has been an Adjunct Professor of Trial Advocacy for Northwestern University's School of Law. The School of Law at Washington University selected Mr. Hannafan to receive the Distinguished Law Alumni Award in 2007. After graduating with honors from Washington University (St. Louis) School of Law in 1970, Mr. Hannafan joined the prestigious Chicago law firm of Kirkland & Ellis, where he honed his litigation and trial skills under the mentorship of nationally known attorneys. Thereafter, he formed Michael T. Hannafan & Associates, Ltd., now known as Hannafan & Hannafan, Ltd., which is devoted exclusively to a general trial and litigation practice. Mr. Hannafan has tried more than 50 cases to decision.
