A Certified Public Accountant as well as an attorney, Nicole Stankewicz uses her broad experience to represent national and local clients in investigations and litigation before various government and state agencies including the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Justice, and the Maryland Securities Division. Colleagues and clients alike enjoy working with Nicole for her energy, commitment, and ability to approach problems with fresh perspectives.
Prior to joining Shulman Rogers, Nicole worked for four years with a large firm in Washington, D.C., where she represented Fortune 200 companies in investigations and litigation conducted by multiple US government agencies. Her experience includes working on complex cases involving issues such as Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBS), accounting fraud, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). She has successfully managed investigations involving multiple subsidiaries of large US companies. While in law school, Nicole interned with both the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. She also completed a yearlong externship with the Department of Justice, Counterterrorism Section.
