Intermediate scrutiny is a legal criterion that is sometimes used to determine whether a law is constitutional. It is typically applied in cases when the law demonstrates bias toward a specific sex or gender. It has also been applied in cases where the law allows someone to be treated differently due to their sexual preference.
Rachel Park Hurt joined Arnett, Draper & Hagood, LLP in the fall of 2009. Rachel's primary practice areas are medical malpractice defense, health care law, and general civil litigation. During her time at the firm, Rachel has successfully defended various clients, in both state and federal court, obtaining multiple defense verdicts and favorable appellate opinions.
