Rebecca M. Black
Rebecca M. Black practices law in the areas of criminal defense, criminal appeals, expungements, family law, and bankruptcy. She earned her law degree from the University of Akron School of Law and excelled in her coursework, achieving the Dean’s List and above a 3.0 GPA.
While in law school, she successfully competed for highly selective internships at the U.S. Coast Guard’s legal offices in Cleveland, Ohio, and at the Cleveland Clinic’s in-house legal department in Beachwood, Ohio. These diverse internships enhanced her research skills and taught her how to learn new areas of law quickly and thoroughly.
Rebecca gained experience in criminal defense work and appellate law during the two years she worked at the Appellate Review Office at the University of Akron School of Law. Her writing skills impressed the supervising attorney so much that she immediately started drafting and researching appeals, which most interns were not assigned to do until their second year of practice at the office.
