Richard Harrison is a native of Oklahoma City. He received his B.A. in Political Science, cum laude, from Coe College (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) in 1970 and served on the board of trustees there from 1980–1986. In 1973, he received his J.D. from SMU School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, the U.S. Court of Appeals (5th Circuit) and U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Western and Eastern Districts of Texas.
He has continuously maintained board certification by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Personal Injury and Civil Trial Law since 1979. Since 1986, he has maintained his certification as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Legal Specialty Certification (formerly the National Board of Trial Advocacy). In 1985, he was named “Outstanding Young Lawyer in Texas” by the Texas Young Lawyers Association.
