Richard N. Tapp, P.A.
Richard was born in 1943 and admitted to the S.C. Bar in 1972. After completing his undergraduate education at Furman University in 1966, he entered the U. S. Army from 1966 to 1968, was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant and awarded the Bronze Star and Vietnam Campaign medals.
He graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law, cum laude, in 1972, where he was the Chief Justice of the Order of Wig and Robe, and the Research Editor of the S.C. Law Review. Thereafter, he was a law clerk for the Hon. Clement F. Haynsworth, Jr., the former Chief Judge of the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals. He has held numerous offices in the S. C. Bar including membership on the Family Law Counsel, the Ethics Advisory Committee and the Resolution of Fee Disputes Board. Richard is a long standing Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the Family Law Section of the S.C. Bar Association and the Family Law Section of the Greenville County Bar Association.
