Ronald J. Segal
Ronald Segel is a native of Albuquerque who earned both bachelor’s and law degrees with honors from the University of New Mexico. Ron became intrigued by the legal profession and the courtroom many years before completing his undergraduate studies. He earned his law degree in 1972, and then began practice with one of Albuquerque's largest general practice law firms. There Ron gained experience in handling many different kinds of civil litigation, but he found that representing individuals who had been harmed by the careless conduct of others gave him the greatest personal and professional satisfaction. After practicing in that firm for four decades, Ron relocated his practice to Will Ferguson & Associates to be able to offer his services to a broader range of clients.
Ron has been admitted to practice in the state and federal courts in New Mexico since 1972. He is also licensed to practice in the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Federal Claims, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. His practice is limited primarily to personal injury, wrongful death, medical negligence, and insurance bad faith cases. He has extensive experience in state and federal trial and appellate courts. Ron was board certified in civil trial advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in 1990. He also became board certified in civil pretrial practice advocacy in 2012, when the National Board of Civil Pretrial Practice Advocacy created a certification program in that field. Ron holds Martindale-Hubbell’s top rating of "AV preeminent." He is listed in Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers.
