Royce D. Turner
Born in Milwaukee, Royce Turner attended high school at St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield, Wisconsin, where he graduated in 2005. He went on to major in criminal justice and communications at the University of Dubuque, where he met his mentor, Angela Simon. Ms. Simon, a renowned and award-winning trial attorney, nurtured the potential that she saw in Royce, encouraging him to go on to law school and helping him to prepare for the LSAT.
While attending Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Royce Turner continued to benefit from Angela Simon’s mentorship as she employed him as a law clerk at her firm. Royce credits her with helping him to develop a keen sense of how to effectively communicate his client’s story to a jury, one of the strengths that make him an outstanding litigator. While a law student at Drake, Royce Turner also gained invaluable experience working as a Polk County judicial clerk. These experiences during law school allowed him to work closely with attorneys, supplementing his academic legal education with practical, hands-on legal work that prepared him to work independently as an attorney.
