Susan B. Nelson
Susan’s practice is broad-based – from insurance defense matters involving the construction industry where she has represented architects, engineers, surveyors, construction managers, general contractors and subcontractors in commercial and residential construction of buildings, roadways, bridges, landfills, sanitary sewers, waterlines and public water supply systems to the defense of employers against workplace intentional torts, OSHA investigations and citations, and VSSR complaints. Ms. Nelson’s civil litigation practice also includes the defense of political subdivisions and non-profits; real estate brokers, real estate agents and appraisers against professional negligence claims; and parties involved in premises and product liability litigation. Susan has defended clients in jury and bench trials, appeals, mediation and arbitration since joining the firm in 1983 following her two-year judicial clerkship at the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas.
