Susan L. Burgess-Farrell


Susan L. Burgess-Farrell is a graduate from the prestigious University of New Hampshire Law School. She began her legal practice when she won a prominent position with the Legal Aid Society in Manhattan, New York City, handling criminal defense cases. In New York City, Ms. Burgess-Farrell gained extensive experience in criminal trials and in litigating constitutional law issues in cases from low-level felonies up to homicides. In 1997, Ms. Burgess Farrell began defending clients charged with felony offenses in New Mexico. Through her successful trial work and adept management skills with the New Mexico Public Defender, she quickly rose in the ranks and ultimately supervised over 100 attorneys practicing criminal law. In her leadership position, Ms. Burgess-Farrell worked closely with the judges of the Albuquerque metropolitan area, and developed a reputation as a zealous advocate for her clients. During her leadership positions, Ms. Burgess-Farrell’s caseload was composed of the most serious cases including child abuse, sexual assaults, drug trafficking and homicides.
