Valerie grew up in Dothan, Alabama and obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During her undergraduate studies, Valerie became interested in the study and practice of law, and the art of trial advocacy. She spent many hours in a courtroom practicing her love of trial work. Valerie served as captain of her undergraduate mock trial team and lead the team to win bids to attend and compete in two National Trial Competitions, where she earned "Best Attorney" awards at both the Regional and National levels. Valerie went on to attend the Charlotte School of Law, where she continued to hone her trial skills in serving as President of the school's Trial Advocacy Board, and while continuing to compete in trial competitions across the country. In her professional life, Valerie's litigation experience and skills have lead to recognition by prominent organizations in the legal community.
