Valieri Beretta-Melley was born and raised in Lima, Peru. In 2001, she graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Mass Communication. In 2006, she obtained her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center. While attending law school, Valieri was a Junior Staff Member for the ILSA Journal of International and Comparative Law and earned the Outstanding Bilingual Staff Member Award in the Winter of 2006. She also earned the Excellence for the Future Award in Civil Pre-Trial Practice.
Prior to joining Vernis & Bowling, Valieri served as a Judicial Staff Attorney in the Civil and Family Divisions of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit in Broward County, Florida. She also previously practiced in the areas of family law and commercial litigation. Valieri is a Certified Guardian Ad Litem for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit for abused, abandoned and neglected children.
