Wilton E. Bland, IV
As an associate, Will’s practice includes the defense of employers and insurance carriers under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, Defense Base Act, as well as the War Hazards Compensation Act. He also specializes in maritime personal injury defense, insurance coverage, and asbestos litigation.
A New Orleans native, Will graduated from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee in 2004. After college, he moved to Washington, D.C. and spent several years working in congress, which gave him a unique appreciation of the legislative process. He worked in the U.S. House of Representatives, first on the Committee of Transportation & Infrastructure, then as a Legislative Assistant for a Congressman from Alabama. Will then received an appointment from President George W. Bush to a position in the U.S. Department of Transportation. He returned to Louisiana for law school and graduated from LSU’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2010.
