Mr. Taggart, (he prefers to be called Ted by his clients) focuses exclusively on bankruptcy law and has helped hundreds of people in Chapter 7 and 13s across the Colorado state in simple cases to highly complex business cases. He has been a regular guest panelist of the Federal Bankruptcy Court advising people considering bankruptcy, has spoken at Bankruptcy Seminars, has appeared on Channel Nine News and in the Denver Post and has served as a Channel Nine LawLine Volunteer Attorney. Ted also has appeared several times on Colorado’s Best, on Channel 2, discussing a variety of bankruptcy issues. Click here for a snippet of his appearance. Ted is also a founding member and a director of the newly formed Colorado Consumer Bankruptcy Association (CCBA), an advocacy group dedicated to the protection of consumer rights in Colorado and the promotion of changes in state bankruptcy law. Ted is a 1997 graduate of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law (a top tier law school), graduating in the top 20% of his class. As one of the first joint-degree students at The Ohio State, Ted also earned an MBA from The Ohio State University in Finance. While there, he was selected to serve as a research assistant to renowned published professors in both programs and was a member of the Big Ten Business Case Competition team. Ted earned his undergraduate degree from Kenyon College (Cum laude, B.A. in Economics), a prestigious liberal arts school in Gambier, Ohio. While there, Ted captained the football team, was named a two-time Division III All-American and was later named to Kenyon’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
